Thank you for choosing Nothing Calculator (the “App”). Your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the App, which is a fully featured scientific calculator with a math solver and theme toggle.

Nothing Calculator is designed to work primarily offline. By default, we do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) from you. Calculator inputs, calculation history, and theme preferences are stored locally on your device unless you explicitly opt into an online or cloud feature (if available).
2. Information we may collect
2.1 Information stored locally (on your device)
- Calculation inputs & history: Expressions you enter and the results may be kept locally to provide features like history, undo, or session recovery.
- Settings & preferences: Theme preference (light/dark), numeric formats, precision settings, and UI preferences are saved locally so the app remembers your choices.
- Cached data: Temporary caches used to speed up the app (e.g., parsed expressions, local formula caches).
2.2 Optional network-based features
If your copy of the App includes optional features such as cloud backup, sync, account creation, online computation, or social sharing, the App will only send data to servers with your explicit consent. Data sent may include:
- Calculation history or selected files for backup or sync.
- Account identifiers or email address (only if you create an account).
- Error reports or crash logs (if you opt-in to diagnostics).
2.3 Analytics and advertising
The default App does not include third-party analytics or advertising. If analytics or ads are included in a future version, we will disclose the specific providers and their data practices and obtain your consent where required by law.
3. How we use information
- To provide and improve App features (perform calculations, show history, apply your theme preference).
- To restore or sync your settings and history when you opt into cloud backup/sync.
- To respond to support requests if you contact us and provide information.
- To gather non-identifying diagnostic data if you enable diagnostics to help us fix crashes or bugs.
4. How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share data in the limited circumstances below:
- With your consent: When you choose to export or share calculation history or results (for example, using a share button), the data will be sent to the destination you select.
- Service providers: If you opt into cloud backup/sync, we may use third-party hosting providers to store your encrypted data. We require such providers to follow privacy and security obligations.
- Legal requirements: If required by law or to respond to lawful requests (e.g., a court order), we may disclose information as necessary.
5. Data retention
Local data (history, settings) remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. For optional cloud-stored data, retention periods will be described in the relevant feature’s settings and can be deleted by you (see “Your rights” below).
6. Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect data under our control. For locally stored data, security depends in part on your device security (passcode, OS updates). If cloud sync is enabled, data in transit is protected via industry standard transport encryption (HTTPS). However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child without parental consent, contact us and we will promptly delete it.
8. International transfers
If you use optional online services, your data may be transferred or stored in servers located in countries other than your own. We will protect such transfers consistent with applicable law.
9. Your rights & choices
- Access & correction: If you create an account or store data in the cloud, you can access and correct your information through the app settings or by contacting us.
- Delete data: You may delete local history or account/cloud data at any time via the App settings. Uninstalling the App removes local data but may not remove server backups — you must delete those through the App’s account settings or by contacting us.
- Opt-out of diagnostics: You can opt-out of sending diagnostic or crash reports in settings (if available).
- GDPR / CCPA: If you are in the EU/EEA or California, you may have additional rights (access, portability, restriction of processing, deletion, and to opt-out of sale). To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. We will require verification before fulfilling requests.
10. Third-party links & services
The App may include links to third-party sites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Please review their privacy policies before using them.
11. Local storage & theme toggle
The App’s theme toggle (light/dark) and other UI preferences are stored locally on your device — typically in app settings or local storage. These preferences do not leave your device unless you explicitly enable a cloud backup/sync feature.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice (for example, in the App or via an update note). The “Effective date” at the top will be updated accordingly.
